OUR CAPABILITIES
Beginning with an operational assessment, MCA, Inc.’s consultants develop a plan to meet the identified needs. These often revolve around staffing, recruitment and retention, process redesign and education. The expertise in operations acquired by our consultants led them to develop staffing strategies for rural acute care hospitals, which have been implemented in multiple institutions. MCA, Inc. has assisted acute care hospitals, small and large, to develop recruitment and retention plans individualized to meet their specific needs. Education is focused on working with the leadership team to develop their leadership and management skills (see Leadership Education section).
OUR EXPERIENCE
Consulting with a Long Term Acute Care Hospital (LTACH), MCA, Inc. has assisted them in defining the patient population they currently serve, the acuity of the population, staffing needs, and revenue received. This assessment has served as the foundation for the development of new strategic and marketing plans.
MCA, Inc. is working with a small healthcare system to determine how to increase the number of admissions to their long term acute care hospital, particularly from within their own system. The project includes an assessment of the issue looking a hospital discharges that would qualify for LTACH admissions, what the relationship is between the physician groups and providing recommendations for increasing admissions and strengthening physician relationships.
MCA, Inc. has filled interim management roles including the Chief Nursing Officer, Director of Nursing, and Quality Manager. Responsibilities have included turn around and change management, in addition to day-to-day operations management.
